Someday

Someday I'll be something that someone, somewhere, will want to somehow be.

50 Word Story

I'm not one to be dramatic. But today? Today means war. I've got everything- sarcasm, reverse psychology, pathos, logos, ethos- gotta be prepared. It's all part of the grand scheme of things. Whatever it takes to win. My hands sweat as I go in to meet the enemy. "Hey, mom..."

The Blurb

My Stupid Mouth (John Mayer)
A date gone bad. A boy doesn't think before speaking (typical) and offends his date. The boy feels like he shouldn't ever speak again, it only hurts him when he does. He remembers what his mom said, "think before speaking". He should have followed her council.

The News (Jack Johnson)
A mom and her son are watching the news. The boy can't understand why no one is sad about a great casualty that has happened. His mom just tells him, "you can't believe everything you hear" but the boy doesn't agree and still wonders why none of the news casters are sad.

At Seventeen
Beauty, Smarts, Sporty, Funny, talented... this is just a short list of things a person needs to be in order to be popular, liked, not considered an outcast. At the age of seventeen, like most girls, a young girl came to "realize" the list. She found that if she didn't have anything that was on this so called "list" she wasn't liked and wouldn't get what other girls did. But in the end she found that she would rather just be herself then be someone she's not. Because after all, who really cares about that stupid list?

Speak Now (Taylor Swift)
A boy about to marry the wrong girl, according to the old girlfriend. But what can a girl do? Day dream. The girlfriend just pretends that the boy she loves won't marry the other girl. He won't say yes and he'll run away right now and meet her. But her daydream ends because she knows she's not the kind of girl who should be rudely barging in on a white vail occasion.

A Little Too Not Over You (David Archuleta)
Boy falls in love with girl. Boy loses girl. Girl gets a new boyfriend. Old Boyfriend gets jealous when he sees old girlfriend with new boyfriend and he now misses old girlfriend. He wants her back, but she has already moved on. Complicated yet?

Dear John.

Boys, Boys, Boys.... Sometimes boys can be stupid. no offense. :)
"John was rude to you, Taylor?"
"Yeah..."
"well what are you gonna do about that?"
"Write a song."
"Eh. Thats not really my style... I was leaning more towards- we get black outfits, rope, a can of shaving cream, maybe some 'i hate you' stickers and we brake into his house.... pretty brilliant, if I don't say so myself"
"No. I'll write him a song. John and me will be the characters in the song."
"fine... What about the plot?"
"It will be about how I forgive him for being so rude to me"
"uh-huh. That's gonna cut him deep... not! You should write about how he used you, just like all the girls before you!"
".... Yeah, you're right"
"I'm always right. Ok, what about the theme?"
"Run while you have the chance and don't get caught up in bad relationships."
"Ok, sounds a little like every other 'relationship song' but that's ok... So what's the conflict?"
"really? you have to ask? that's easy. I fell in love. he used me. we broke up. now I'm writing a song... Dear John."
"I still think we should break into his house... but whatev. so, setting?"
"no where really in particular. just me writing a song."
"I like it."

Impulse 2

Two people on a date. In the car.

1- (singing) Oh the weather outside is frightful-
2- Really? You're gonna sing that now?
1- Yeah, why not?
2- i dont know, i just dont understand what made you think of it...
1- The weather, obviously.
2- Oh. That makes sence.
1- uh-huh.
2- So.. Frosty the snowman?
1- what?
2- Is that the song you will be singing next?
1- haha i could... but i was thinking chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
2- Chestnuts? you know when you go to the mall and they have those little shops?
1- Yeah?
2- that just reminded me of it.
1- why?
2- Because, you know the shop where they sell those chestnuts with the brown sugar on them- sooo gooood!
1- you're crazy! ha
2- You're crazy, chestnut man!
1- No I'm not!.... (singing) jack Frost nippin at your nose
2- point proven.

The Bus

Two people sitting next to each other on a bus.

1- K. There were two muffins in an oven-
2- I already know this joke.
1- Fine. Why did the girl fall off the swing?
2- I already know this joke too..
1- ... Do you wanna know what would be the worst thing ever to endure?
2- No.
1- Why?
2- Because I already know
1- Really?
2- uh-huh
1- What is it then?
2- Sitting next to someone who won't stop talking.
1-... nope. That's not it.
2- oh really, then what is it?
1- Sitting next to someone who thinks they know everything.
2- I knew that...

Seasons

Bzz, Bzzz, Bzz. Bee's Buzz, Bee's Buzz. Crunch, Crunch, Crunch. Leaves fall, Leaves fall. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch. Hail storm, hail storm. Snif, snif, snif. Spring's here, spring's here. Bzz, Bzzz, Bzz. Bee's buzz, bee's Buzz.

Shake the Dust

This is for the ones in the waiting room of the ICU, for the midgets, and for the girls who never knew the truth.
Shake the dust.
This is for the ones in an open cage but never looked around, for the one’s who would rather drowned, for the ones who dream and pray to be seen.
Shake the dust.
This is for the prisoner of love, for the one who always thought that they were dumb and felt numb to the feeling of fear.
Shake the dust.
This is for the indecisive, imprecise, and the one’s who can’t take advice, for the dad longing to be home and the children who feel alone.
Shake the dust.
This is for the one’s who can’t find god and think no one will care when they’re gone, for the little girl who never amounted to anything and never went to her senior prom.
Shake the dust.
This is for the grandma’s that are now grey and have to visit their husband’s graves, for the chubby boy who never got asked to dance and never had a chance, for the boy who played with fire and for the liar.
Shake the dust.
We are always told we can change. So why do we fight to stay the same? Stop fighting and Shake the dust. Be who you want to be. It’s funny how we fear what we need the most, it’s the storm that makes us clean again… shake the dust or maybe it’s “wash” the dust…. Either way just get rid of it already.

Rock Out

Rock out. Rock out like you’re in an elevator alone, like you just found your cell phone, like your cover wasn’t blown. Rock out like you didn’t burn your pancakes for the first time, like everyone by you is blind, like you just found a dime. What? No school on Monday? Freak! Rock out!
Rock out like you're Tarzan and you just found Jane, like you're parents surpirsed you with a trip to Spain, like you walk into a bathroom and they have paper towels and not the stupid blow dryers, that never dry. Rock out like a boy goes to hold your hand, like you were stranded on a ship for days, with your crazy uncle, who needs rogaine and you finally found land. Rock out.
Rock out like you’re making cookies and realize… you do have eggs! Rock out like you were crippled and now have legs, like you have been sober for days. Rock out.
Rock out like you just found a money tree in your back yard! Like you just used your debit card and you just saw an old man in a speedo… now your scarred. Rock out like you're speeding and see a cop but the sucker in-front of you gets pulled over, like you just found a four leaf clover and won the fight with your boyfriend, what a loser. Rock out.
Rock out like you were playing Barbie’s and didn’t get caught, like you actually made a four square knot and you found who you sought.
You just crashed your car, who cares? Rock out.

Love Is...

10- Love is a scary movie. Even when it's not happening to you, you're still effected by it.
9- love is tree. A really, really, big tree.
8- Love is salt.
7- love is a painting.
6- love is a cafe Rio Salad. You know you'll get fat if you eat it... but you eat it anyways!
5- Love is a dream. It's only what you make it to be.
4- love is an elevator.
3- love is a prison with no lock.
2- Love is a swing set.
1- love is rain. Sometimes you want it to pour, sometimes you wish it would just go away.

I'm Thinking About You

I'm thinking about you. I'm thinking about you like school kids think about summer, like lemonade thinks about sugar, like leaves think about the fall. I'm thinking about you like dads think about getting home, like soldiers think about getting home, like baseball players think about getting to home. I'm thinking about you like America thinks about freedom, like the Bible thinks about the garden of Eden. I'm thinking about you like terroists think about planes, like clouds think about rain, like old people think about canes, grey hairs, and not enough days. I'm thinking about you like kids think about money and having famous names. I'm thinking about you like waves think about sand, like guns think about war, like musicians think about tour. I'm thinking about you like L thinks about O and V thinks about E. I'm thinking about you like love thinks about having someone. Trying to get you off of my mind is just a waste of my time, becuase i'm thinking about you, even now.

Fear

Hello! My name is Jean Louis Flinch.
In the golden years of 8th grade, My English teacher decided to be creative and instead of just read the book, "To Kill A Mocking Bird" we had to put on a play... awkward. Guess which character I got to be?? Yep. Jean Louis Flinch, also known as "Scout". So i guess the big question would be, can i act? Nope. Was the play embarrassing? You better believe it! Now, you must be thinking, "what does any of this have to do with your blog"? I'm about to tell you. Doing anything that makes me vaulnerable, is like the kiss of death to me. So it's safe to say that doing this blog, scares the crap out of me.

To the point. Whether I liked it or not, doing the play forced me to over come my fear. I chose the name Jean L. Flinch because it reminds me that I can do things that scare me. Just cause i'm scared, doesn't mean i can't do it. So here I am making this blog. Over coming my fear, instead of switching classes.
